How to Make Blueberry Sauce

Only a few simple ingredients are needed to make this delicious drizzle to top your favorite breakfast or dessert!

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Measuring cup and spoons
  • Strainer
  • Mixing spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup Honey or 100% pure maple syrup
  • 4 tsp Cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup Water
  • Juice of 1 lemon, optional

Instructions

  • Combine blueberries, honey, cornstarch, water and lemon juice in a medium saucepan.
  • Bring to a low boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
  • Boil and stir for one minute.
  • Remove from heat and pour through a strainer, if desired.
  • Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container, such as a glass jar, in the fridge for up to one week.
Serve as a topping for breakfasts including pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, crepes, and yogurt.
Serve as a topping for desserts including pound cake, cheesecake, and ice cream.
Handle with care as blueberry sauce will stain easily.
